That the decision of the Arts Sub-Committee of 4th August under the heading "Culture and Arts Project Grant Scheme 2004/2005: Second Tranche - Factotum", as adopted by the principal Committee at its meeting on 18th August, agreeing to provide funding of £3,300 to Factotum, be amended to provide that financial assistance in respect of the "The Vacuum" element of the Factotum application for grant assistance be not provided until such time as Factotum provides an apology for any offence which may have been caused to Members of the Council and the citizens of the City by previous publications and provides an assurance that future publications will meet such criteria as may be established by the Council.

A division on the matter was immediately demanded. A poll having been taken, there voted for the amendment twenty-four Members, viz., the High Sheriff (Councillor Patterson) and Councillors Adamson, D. Browne, W. Browne, Convery, Crooks, Crozier, Dodds, Empey, Ervine, Hutchinson, Maginness, McCausland, M. McGimpsey, McMillen, Molloy, Morgan, Newton, O'Reilly, Rodgers, E. Smyth, Stoker, Toan and Wilson; and against it twelve Members viz., the Right Honourable the Lord Mayor (Councillor Ekin) and Councillors Alderdice, M. Browne, Lavery, A. Maskey, P. Maskey, McAuley, McCann, McClenaghan, Moore, Ní Chuilín and Ó Broin.
